There are 12 modules, each of which can be covered in 2 hours contact time, plus a further 2-4 hours given to working on assignments. It is suggested that this be completed over a 10-12 month period, and in any of the following patterns:

  • 11-12 monthly evening discipleship meetings, with assignments done between each meeting
  • 4 Saturday daytime ‘conferences’, each followed by 3 assignments and mentor group meetings
  • 2 weekends, each followed by a 6 month period of assignments and suitable mentoring

Each module will…

  • Provide teaching on principles and skills in a key area of leadership
  • Explore study applications of those principles and skills to different kinds of leadership
    • everyday life (including family and work)
    • local church
    • mission and church planting
    • transforming society
  • Ask for a more substantial study application to be pursued in the trainee’s own area of leadership
  • Require practical application within active ministry/leadership – appropriate ‘projects’ to be agreed by the mentor and participant, depending on the participant’s previous experience
  • Suggest further learning materials. These can be used either to prepare for a session, or as follow-up material after the relevant session
