There are 12 modules, each of which can be covered in 2 hours contact time, plus a further 2-4 hours given to working on assignments. It is suggested that this be completed over a 10-12 month period, and in any of the following patterns:
- 11-12 monthly evening discipleship meetings, with assignments done between each meeting
- 4 Saturday daytime ‘conferences’, each followed by 3 assignments and mentor group meetings
- 2 weekends, each followed by a 6 month period of assignments and suitable mentoring
Each module will…
- Provide teaching on principles and skills in a key area of leadership
-
Explore study applications of those principles and skills to different kinds of leadership
- everyday life (including family and work)
- local church
- mission and church planting
- transforming society
- Ask for a more substantial study application to be pursued in the trainee’s own area of leadership
- Require practical application within active ministry/leadership – appropriate ‘projects’ to be agreed by the mentor and participant, depending on the participant’s previous experience
- Suggest further learning materials. These can be used either to prepare for a session, or as follow-up material after the relevant session
